Regional and National Organization: The 4-H National Mentoring Program features replication of three Programs of Distinction, recognized for implementing effective mentoring strategies with goals of improving Family relationships, increasing social competencies, increasing school attendance, reducing juvenile delinquency, youth unemployment, and school failure. True Colors

Regional Organization: In 2003, in conjunction with the State Department of Children and Families (DCF), True Colors created the only state-wide One on One Mentoring Program for LGBTIQ youth. The pilot program started with 10 mentees and 10 mentors. Today the program provides services for over 100 youth! The Steve Harvey Mentoring Program for Young Men

Regional and National Organization: In 2003, in conjunction with the State Department of Children and Families (DCF), True Colors created the only state-wide One on One Mentoring Program for LGBTIQ youth. YMCA

Regional and National Organization: YMCA of the USA (Y-USA), the resource office for the nationís 2,700 YMCAs, today announces the expansion of the YMCA’s Reach & Rise program, which connects kids and teens with adult mentors for 12-18 months. Through a $4 million grant from the Office of Juvenile Justice and Delinquency Prevention (OJJDP), the Y is expanding the service area of the mentoring program from six to 38 states by the end of 2013. Regional and National Organization: The Amachi mentoring organization was developed in 2000 to provide children impacted by incarceration with a different path by establishing the consistent presence of loving, caring mentors. Kids Hope USA

Regional and National Organization: KIDS HOPE USA develops these one-on-one relationships through the creation of church-school partnerships that pair church members with at-risk kids in supportive, mentoring relationships. KIDS HOPE USA mentors spend just one hour per week, reading, talking, playing and listening to a child at school. LPL Financial

Regional Organization: LPL Financial partners with Big Brothers Big Sisters and local public schools to host the Beyond School Walls program, a unique workplace mentoring program. At-risk students have the opportunity to learn about the corporate world first-hand and enable LPL Financial employees to make a difference in the life of a child. Littles come to LPL Financial offices every other week to spend time with their Big and learn about financial skills, public speaking, study skills and career options. Big Brothers Big Sisters Military Mentoring Program

National Organization: The MMP also engages active duty, reserve or retired/separated military personnel, as well as civilians as volunteer mentors. Staff carefully match adult mentors and youth mentees in long-term, one-to-one friendships and provide professional support for the volunteers, children and Families throughout the life of the match. National Police Athletics/Activities Leagues (PAL)

Regional and National Organization: The National Police Athletics/Activities Leagues, Inc. exists to prevent juvenile crime and violence by providing civic, athletic, recreational and educational opportunities and resources to PAL Chapters. Stop Now And Plan (SNAP)

Regional Organization: The SNAP (Stop Now And Plan) Under 12 Outreach Project (SNAP ORP) is a specialized, Family-focused intervention for boys under age 12 who display aggressive and antisocial behavior problems. Cure Violence

Regional and National Organization: Cure Violence (formerly known as CeaseFire-Chicago) is a Chicago, Illinois-based violence prevention program administered by the Chicago Project for Violence Prevention. Rather than aiming to directly change the behaviors of a large number of individuals, Cure Violence concentrates on changing the behavior and risky activities of a small number of selected members of the community who have a high chance of either “being shot” or “being a shooter” in the immediate future Web Site

Michigan State University Adolescent Project (MSUAP)

My Sister’s Circle

Regional (Baltimore) Organization: My Sister’s Circle is a comprehensive, relationship-based program designed to mentor girls from disadvantaged Baltimore neighborhoods during their challenging transition to middle school, throughout high school, and into college. Web Site

American Bar Association

National Organization: The Programís purpose is to provide mentees the opportunity to gain insight into the legal profession from an experienced attorney who practices in an area of interest, and/or who shares similar personal experiences with the mentee, such as a disability. However, mentors do not have to have a disability in order to participate, and just have to have a willingness to mentor a prospective or current law student or recent law graduate with a disability. Eye To Eye

National Organization: Eye to Eye’s mission is to improve the life of every person with a learning disability. e-Buddies

Regional and National Organization: e-Buddies is one of the eight programs offered by Best Buddies International. e-Buddies is an e-mail pen pal program that provides opportunities for e-mail friendships between people with intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD) and their peers who do not have IDD. Each participant is matched in a one-to-one e-mail friendship, and matched pairs are asked to exchange e-mails once a week for at least one year. Matches are made based on similar age, gender, geography (i.e. participants will NOT be matched with someone from the same state/province), and shared interests. Web Site

Regional (Southern California) Organization: The Youth Mentoring Action Network is dedicated to leveraging the power of mentoring relationships to increase access to opportunities for all youth. Since 2007, we have worked to engage high school youth in quality mentoring relationships that lead mentees down the path of higher education. National Organization: The American Military Partner Association (AMPA) is the nationís premier resource and support network for the partners and spouses of LGBT troops and veterans. Connecting our community gives new spouses access to a wealth of knowledge and experience. Whether or not itís just getting good advice on things like a first permanent change of station (PCS) move, or how to deal with separation during a deployment, this program can be a huge benefit in helping our new Families learn to adapt to their new military life. National Organization: The Veteran eMentor Program leverages the internet to create a dynamic information sharing, learning and support community that extends far beyond the veteran’s current network. We welcome proteges who served in the Armed Forces and are now seeking civilian employment or assistance with any aspect of the transition to civilian life. Proteges can receive personalized career guidance, advice, support and inspiration from more experienced veterans, career mentors and veteran-friendly employers.
