The AR CYS team is here to establish and implement programs that address the Army Reserve's child care, youth development, and school transition needs.

Mission: To support the readiness and well-being of geographically dispersed families by reducing the conflict between parental responsibilities and mission requirements.  Visit www.arfp.org/cys.

Army Reserve CYS Team

Child & Youth Services is a program that has existed on Active Duty Army Installations for many years to provide supervision and activities for military youth.  However, Army Reserve families do not necessarily live near a military installation.  In the past this has made it difficult to take advantage of the services that were available to support them.  During times of increased utilization of Army Reserve troops it has become critical to design programs that can deliver programming where these families live.

Army Reserve youth want to connect with other youth who have experienced similar situations, who know what it feels like to have a parent deployed.  We are implementing programs and activities in communities across the country to bring Army Reserve youth together.

Get involved with the following organizations:

  • Operation: Military Kids – Collaboration among community organizations such as 4-H, American Legion and Boys & Girls Clubs
  • Operation Purple camps – Establishing summer camps designed for children of parents who have been deployed
  • Teen Leadership – Training for teens in leadership skills such as public speaking, teambuilding, civic responsibility and communication.

Children spend many hours each day at school and rely on their child care providers, teachers, principals, coaches and other adults, to meet their needs.  Because most Army Reserve youth live in civilian communities, professionals may be uncertain of how to address their unique needs.

Child & Youth Services wants to support your child’s academic success.
