TRICARE 

As many military men and women return home from deployments and prepare to end their active duty service, one of their prime concerns will be to ensure that health care coverage for themselves and their families is not interrupted.

TRICARE - Department of Defense healthcare programs.TRICARE is the U.S. government sponsored health insurance plan for military members, their family and retirees.  This is a comprehensive health insurance plan offered at low premiums to U.S. military personnel and their families.   • Active Duty ends on the last day as stated by the orders.  This should also match the date on the DD Form 214.
  • TAMP is Transitional Assistance Management Program.  Day 1 of TAMP Coverage is the first day after the end of Active Duty.  TAMP covers the Soldier and eligible family members for 180 days immediately following release from qualifying active duty. 
  • If purchased, TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) begins on the 181st day.


Transitional Assistance Management Program - TAMP  

Transitional Assistance Management Program

The Transitional Assistance Management Program (TAMP) offers transitional TRICARE coverage to certain separating active duty members and their eligible family members.  TAMP Under the National Defense Authorization Act for Fiscal Year 2005, effective Oct. 28, 2004, TRICARE eligibility under the TAMP has been permanently extended from 60 or 120 days to 180 days.  Coverage starts on the day after the sponsor's separation date.  More on Transitional Assistance Management rogram (TAMP)


TRICARE Reserve Select - TRS  

TRICARE Reserve Select

TRICARE Reserve Select (TRS) is a new premium based health insurance program that offers all members of the Selected Reserve an opportunity to purchase comprehensive health coverage similar to TRICARE Standard and TRICARE Extra.

Although the TRS program offers the same coverage for all members of the Selected Reserve and National Guard, the monthly premiums are based on three qualification tiers.

TRICARE Pharmacy Program  

TRICARE provides a world-class pharmacy benefit to all eligible Uniformed Services members.  Eligible beneficiaries may fill prescription medications at military treatment facility (MTF) pharmacies; through the TRICARE Mail Order Pharmacy (TMOP); at TRICARE retail network pharmacies (TRRx); and at non network pharmacies. To have a prescription filled, beneficiaries need a written prescription and a valid Uniformed Services identification card.  More on TRICARE Pharmacy Program 


TRICARE Dental Program - TDP  
The TRICARE Dental Program (TDP) is a voluntary, high quality, cost-effective dental care plan for eligible family members of all active duty uniformed services personnel and National Guard/Reserve Soldiers and/or their families.  More on TRICARE Dental Program
